SockMonkey Studios is a game and mobile app development studio in Middlesbrough, UK.

History

Founded in early 2013, SockMonkey boasts a staffing team made up of former employees of Team17, Jagex, Atomic Planet and Iguana. After taking the Worms franchise onto Facebook, Bob and Darren left Team17 and started SockMonkey with thanks to the help of Teesside University and the Digital City.

Wurdy

SockMonkey's first game "Wurdy" is a local multiplayer word association party game. Wurdy was released in December 2013 on iOS and Android. It launched to great reviews and was featured by Apple in 147 countries, taking the coveted no.1 spot in 2.

Soccer Monkey

Game 2 is the arcade sports title “Soccer Monkey”. The game was released on iOS and Android in June 2014 in order to coincide with the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Recent

SockMonkey are currently hard at work on the next stage of their world domination plot. Standard days at SockMonkey HQ include heavy amounts of coding, drinking tea and looking at people getting parking tickets outside of the window.
